What is Alpha?

Alpha is a 12 week practical introduction to the Christian faith.

Alpha is for:

Anyone interested in finding out more about the Christian faith. People of all ages are welcome.

Learning and laughter. It is possible to learn about the Christian faith and have fun at the same time.

People meeting together. An opportunity to make new friends.

Helping one another. The small groups give you a chance to discuss issues raised during the talks.

Ask anything. Alpha is a place where no question is regarded as too simple or too hostile.

What's in an Evening?

We meet once a week, usually in the evenings from 7.00 pm to 9.30pm. We use the Symonds Room at the back of the church hall.

During each evening session we:
Start with a meal
Follow this with a talk about an issue central to the Christian faith.
And then get into small groups where you can discuss the talk and raise any questions that are on your mind.

There is no charge for the course, although you might like to give a £2 donation to cover the cost of the meal.

Is it for me?

The course might be ideal for you if

You are uncertain about the Christian faith and would like to find out more
You are a new Christian and want to learn more about what you believe
You would like a refresher course in the basics of the faith.

When's the next course?

We are planning to run an Alpha course starting September 2008 - more details will be available nearer the time
